Spring 2017 Update: Out & About / Book us for an Awareness Session

The sun is out and a spring in the step:

and we are sharing some positive updates for last few months April - July. During this period, we provided 2 new infusion pumps to patients and supported 4 new counselling referrals. We engaged 400 community members through 6 awareness events and 3 education presentations to community inter-agency networks. Thank you to Judd, Theodora, Marianne, Fay, Nazik and Ghada for their great volunteer support at these events.

We provided information or support to 70 patient questions and over 55 queries for information from the community.Image may contain: text

Some of the questions and requests included:

- - diet and lifestyle questions by thalassaemia minor carriers, family planning contacts and/or advice for thalassaemia minor carriers, information about tests for thalassaemia minor or sickle cell trait, info for school projects, visas to Australia and access to the health system, access to blood transfusions while holidaying in Australia, support with accessing travel and life insurance and support with Centrelink - -

In addition, we prepared and launched our new online newsletter: http://bit.ly/ThalNSW_e-News_Jul2017
